Headmasters are a chain of 56 Hair & Beauty Salons based in and around the London area.


Premium, accessible feature-filled website.

Launched in September 2019, the new website has delivered a big increase in both on-and-offline bookings and sign-ups to their VIP programme. The new site also fully integrates with instore till and booking systems.

Individual salon pages have been carefully coded with structured data so that updates to opening hours are quickly picked up by Google Maps. Improvements like this helps the team at Headmasters reduce the time it takes to manage their online presence.

The old website had been run by an employee for several years, who whilst enthusiastic, had very little programming experience.

With over 40 plug-ins installed in WordPress, the resulting customer experience was sluggish, cluttered and unresponsive. Not to mention a potential security nightmare in the making.


Aside from exporting the news database and some other key pieces of content, we abandoned the existing website and started again from scratch.

Beginning with a digital makeover of their identity guidelines — introducing a new set of typefaces and simplifying the colour palette — a modern, stylish design was created, supported by some great in-house photography that really brings the website to life.

Specific attention was paid to page speed, registration and booking processes, as well as transactional emails to help improve the customer experience.
