The Worshipful Company of Innholders have a heritage that dates back to the 13th century, and their website looked & functioned like it might have been from that era also.
We were approached by creative agency Tonik to help bring their design to life and to deliver a membership management tool that streamlined Innholders’ administrative processes and cut IT costs.
The result was a new website that delivers a single digital ecosystem, negating the need for a separate CRM or mailing list tool.

“The images below show how the user can update their details on the front-end of the website, whilst the admin team also have the ability to manage all member details directly from the WordPress CMS. Website admins can also send event notifications directly from within WordPress, negating the need for a seperate CRM such as Mailchimp or Salesforce.“

Livery Company Website Brief
When we first sat down with the Innholders team, we discovered just how painful it had become for them to work with their original website. Not only was the design dated and uninspiring, but there was a raft of administrative and functionality issues, including:
- Confusing site structure and navigation
- Poorly implemented CMS
- Expensive and overwhelming Salesforce administration
- Lack of CRM integration
- Too much manual administration of members’ details
- Manual administration of member events
- Closure of private members area due to security concerns
The new solution would look to solve these issues whilst delivering tools that would streamline their internal processes.

Once we’d run through the discovery phase, we were able to plan the best solution for the new website, allowing for the following improvements:
- Reduction of publicly available content to help streamline the website
- Assisting Tonik create a modern website design that is sympathetic to the heritage of the brand
- Easier processing of charity applications via an online form
- Re-establish private members area for event management
- Improved site security
- Intuitive CMS that allows for the administration of events & members’ details without the need for Salesforce
The result is a lightweight website that is easy to manage, freeing-up administrative time to be spent on other tasks.
Members can now manage their own contact details via a secure login page, review event details, confirm event bookings, add guests and read the latest news from the Innholders Company.
