De Havilland Gin Website Case Study

Case Study

De Havilland Gin

A brand new small-batch London Dry Gin. Launched by pilot and entrepreneur, Hiru Bathija

Project Background

De Havilland Gin website design & build

Hiru Bathija approached LWDA to design & build an e-commerce website for his new gin brand after a recommendation from our good friends at Mystery.

Mystery had created a beautiful bottle label design for De Havilland Gin with supporting graphics and brand elements. Hiru just needed a creative web agency to help him bring it all to life.

We were more than happy to use Mystery’s great work as inspiration for a slick one-page website to help launch De Havilland Gin.

Gin Brand Launch Website Brief

THE
CHALLENGE

LWDA were tasked with creating a beautiful website presence for the launch of De Havilland Gin.

Hiru requested the design should follow the style and character of the bottle label and that the visitor should be able to purchase the Gin direct from the site.

The site needed to be simple, clean and informative. Giving context to the brand name and helping to build the brand world for future expansion.

Responsive Ecommerce Website Design

Bespoke WordPress build with eCommerce integration

With only a single product available at this time, we felt there was no requirement for a multi-page website.

A slick one-page website would be enough at this stage of the brand’s development to promote the product and convey the quality of the brand.

More pages can be added as the brand and product range grows. But for now, a single-page website would be easy to manage and budget-friendly.

E-commerce functionality was added by integrating WooCommerce – the industry-standard e-commerce plugin for WordPress.

Using WooCommerce from the start – rather than a solution such as PayPal – means adding new products in the future will be easier and cheaper for the client.

We’re very pleased with the site and look forward to supporting Hiru as he grows the De Havilland Gin brand.

UPDATE: Hiru decided to close De Havilland Gin in May 2024. We have a copy of the website for review purposes here.

“It was important to create a website which aligned with the premium brand that we had built, so I was recommened LWDA who were fantastic from start to finish. The team developed a beautiful website with a seamless user interface.“
